Background

Located in Minneapolis, FirstTech Computer is one of the leading independent computer dealers in the country, providing training and service in addition to sales support. With strong ties to both retail and corporate customers, FirstTech needed a site update that would serve both existing customers as well as attract and establish new relationships.

The Project

By evaluating customer feedback from their existing site and polling strategic input from key stakeholders, Blue Orange was able to determine the criteria to make the new site a success. FirstTech's primary goals were to inform new users about new products within the store, promote interest in training programs, and encourage retail users to visit the storefront. A secondary goal was to encourage customers to opt into the FirstTech email newsletter. Customers wanted easy access to training schedules, and information about promotions.

The Solution

Blue Orange was able to create a new visual experience that included updating the FirstTech logo, creating a new content taxonomy that pushed customer information closer to the top levels of the site, and creating a new look and feel for the website that better matched the physical store experience. Also included in the update was a custom content management system allowing marketing managers to quickly and inexpensively update the site.
